Who is it for?

Couples trying to conceive
Fertility is a shared process. Sperm is a contributing factor in around half of all fertility cases, yet most couples focus almost entirely on what she's taking. The 90-day window before conception is when both egg and sperm quality are most influenced by nutrition. This bundle treats it as the joint preparation it is.

Couples preparing for IVF
Sperm quality matters at every stage of IVF: from fertilisation through to embryo development. Egg quality is shaped in the months before collection. Starting the full protocol for both partners at least three months before egg collection covers the most important window for both.

Couples who've been trying for a while
If it's taking longer than expected, making sure both partners are properly supported is one of the most straightforward steps available. This bundle removes the guesswork on both sides, in one place.

Couples over 35
Both egg and sperm quality are influenced by age, and both CoQ10 and Omega-3 are particularly relevant from the mid-thirties. This bundle addresses the key drivers for both partners, mitochondrial energy, oxidative protection, and the full micronutrient foundation, consistently and in the right forms.

How should I take it?

For her:
Fundamental Woman
Two capsules a day, with food.
CoQ10 400mg
One 400mg capsule twice daily, with a meal containing some fat.
Fundamental Omega-3
Two capsules a day, with food.

For him:
Fundamental Man
One capsule a day, with food.
CoQ10 200mg
One 200mg capsule twice daily, with a meal containing some fat.
Fundamental Omega-3
Two capsules a day, with food.

Start at least three months before you want to conceive or before egg collection. Note: we don't recommend continuing CoQ10 once pregnant. Fundamental Woman and Fundamental Omega-3 can be continued through pregnancy.

"Sperm quality has declined significantly over recent decades, and it declines with age — but most couples don't think about it beyond a standard semen analysis. A normal result means count, motility and morphology are within range. It doesn't tell you anything about DNA fragmentation, oxidative stress, or how much room there is to improve. Every incremental improvement in egg quality and sperm quality compounds. Conception is a team effort, and the three months before you try is the window when both partners can actually do something about it. That's what this bundle is built around."

Every ingredient, and why it’s included

The Fertility Fundamentals | Duo bundle brings together 22 active compounds across five products — everything for her and everything for him. Explore the benefits for each partner below.

For her
Benefits for egg health and conception The three months before conception is when egg quality is most influenced by nutrition
Ingredient Dose Key benefit
Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinone) Fermented ubiquinone · CoQ10 400mg
400mg
per capsule
Powers egg maturation

Eggs contain more mitochondria than almost any other cell in the body. The process of egg maturation and early embryo development is extraordinarily energy-intensive. CoQ10 is the essential electron carrier in the mitochondria that drives the production of ATP, the cell’s energy currency. Adequate CoQ10 in the egg’s mitochondria supports the energy supply this process depends on.

Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinone) Antioxidant role · CoQ10 400mg
400mg
per capsule
Antioxidant protection for eggs

CoQ10 also functions as a lipid-soluble antioxidant, neutralising free radicals within the mitochondrial membrane. Egg cells are particularly vulnerable to oxidative damage — and that vulnerability increases with age. CoQ10 addresses this directly, protecting the mitochondria that power egg development from the oxidative stress that accumulates over time.

EPA Eicosapentaenoic acid · Fundamental Omega-3
660mg
Inflammatory balance and implantation

EPA is the primary anti-inflammatory omega-3. The environment in the uterus and follicle during the lead-up to ovulation and around the time of implantation is influenced by the balance between pro- and anti-inflammatory signals. Adequate EPA status is associated with a hormonal and cellular environment supportive of healthy implantation and early pregnancy.

DHA Docosahexaenoic acid · Fundamental Omega-3
440mg
Egg cell membrane integrity

Every egg cell is surrounded by a membrane composed largely of fatty acids. DHA is a key structural omega-3 in these membranes, and adequate DHA status is associated with healthier egg cell structure and function. In IVF studies, omega-3 status has been associated with improved fertilisation rates and embryo development.

Folate (5-MTHF) Active form · Fundamental Woman
400µg
200% NRV
DNA support that works for everyone

Folate is essential for DNA synthesis and cell division, both of which are central to producing a healthy egg. Every egg that matures goes through rapid cell division, and folate is required at every stage of that process. We use the active form, 5-MTHF, which works even if your body struggles to convert standard folic acid, a limitation that affects up to 40% of women.

Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin) Active methylated form · Fundamental Woman

Supporting a healthy early pregnancy The nutritional foundation you build before conception supports the pregnancy that follows
Ingredient Dose Key benefit
Folate (5-MTHF) Active form · Fundamental Woman
400µg
200% NRV
Baby’s neural development

One of the most important nutrients in early pregnancy, and one where the form matters. We use 5-MTHF, the active form that works even if your body struggles to convert standard folic acid. Starting before conception means it’s already at the right level when it counts most — in the earliest weeks, often before a pregnancy is confirmed.

DHA Docosahexaenoic acid · Fundamental Omega-3
440mg
Early fetal brain development

DHA is the dominant structural omega-3 in the brain. Adequate DHA status before and in the earliest weeks of pregnancy supports the nutritional environment for fetal neurological development from the moment of conception. DHA cannot be efficiently synthesised by the body and must come from the diet or supplementation.

Choline Fundamental Woman
250mg
Baby’s brain formation

Critical for fetal brain and spinal cord development, and almost always missing from standard prenatals. Establishing adequate choline status before conception means the supply is there from the earliest stages of development.

Vitamin D3 Cholecalciferol · Fundamental Woman
50µg
1000% NRV
Supports healthy early pregnancy

Most people in the UK are deficient. Vitamin D receptors are present in the uterus and placenta, and adequate levels before and at the time of conception are associated with better outcomes in early pregnancy.

EPA Eicosapentaenoic acid · Fundamental Omega-3
660mg
Anti-inflammatory support in early pregnancy

EPA’s anti-inflammatory role is relevant beyond conception. The inflammatory environment in the uterus in the weeks after implantation plays a role in how a pregnancy is established and maintained. Adequate EPA status supports the conditions associated with a healthy early pregnancy.

Iron (Ferrous Bisglycinate) Gentle, chelated form · Fundamental Woman
15mg
108% NRV
Iron stores for conception and beyond

Adequate iron stores before conception support the significant increase in iron demand that follows. The bisglycinate form absorbs well and is gentler on the stomach than standard iron supplements, making it easier to take consistently.

Iodine (Knotted Kelp) Food-form source · Fundamental Woman
150µg
100% NRV
Baby’s brain and thyroid from the start

Essential for your baby’s cognitive development from the earliest weeks — before their own thyroid is working. Iodine is often low in UK diets, and having adequate levels already established at conception means there’s no gap in supply.

Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin) Active methylated form · Fundamental Woman
200µg
8000% NRV
Supports healthy cell division

B12 works alongside folate in the methylation cycle and is essential for the rapid cell division of early embryo development. We use methylcobalamin — the active form your body uses directly.

Beta Carotene Provitamin A · Fundamental Woman
3mg
Safe vitamin A

Provides vitamin A without the toxicity risk of preformed retinol, which is contraindicated at high doses in pregnancy. Beta carotene is converted on demand — the body self-regulates the conversion, so there’s no risk of excess.

Vitamin K2 (MK-7) Most bioavailable form · Fundamental Woman
90µg
120% NRV
Makes D3 work properly

Directs calcium to where it belongs, and ensures the vitamin D3 in this formula does its job properly.

Ingredient Dose Key benefit
Folate (5-MTHF) Active form · Fundamental Man
100µg
50% NRV
Reduced DNA fragmentation

Folate is central to DNA repair and methylation. Low folate is associated with higher levels of DNA fragmentation in sperm, which can affect fertilisation and embryo development even when sperm count looks normal on a standard semen analysis.

Zinc (Zinc Bisglycinate) Chelated form · Fundamental Man
6mg
60% NRV
Protects sperm DNA

Zinc plays a direct structural role in protecting the DNA inside sperm. It forms complexes with the proteins that package sperm DNA tightly, helping to shield it from damage during the journey to the egg.

Selenium Sodium Selenate · Fundamental Man
100µg
182% NRV
Shields sperm genetic material

Selenium is incorporated into antioxidant enzymes specifically expressed in the testes. These enzymes neutralise the reactive molecules that would otherwise cause breaks in sperm DNA, which matter for what the embryo inherits.

Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin) Active methylated form · Fundamental Man
250µg
10000% NRV
Passing on healthy genetic instructions

B12 is a key methyl donor, involved in regulating how sperm DNA is read and expressed. This epigenetic information is passed on at fertilisation and can influence embryo development and long-term child health.

Choline Choline Bitartrate · Fundamental Man
150mg
Supports healthy sperm DNA packaging

Choline is a methyl donor that works alongside folate and B12. Together they control how sperm DNA is packaged and expressed, which matters not just for fertilisation but for what the embryo inherits from the father.

† No Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) has been established.

Benefits for sperm movement Sperm need to swim strongly and in the right direction to reach and fertilise the egg
Ingredient Dose Key benefit
Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinone) Fermented ubiquinone · CoQ10 200mg
200mg
per capsule
Powers sperm motility

Sperm rely almost entirely on their mitochondria to generate the ATP that powers the tail movements needed to swim towards the egg. CoQ10 is the essential electron carrier in this process. Without adequate CoQ10 in the sperm midpiece, energy production becomes less efficient and motility suffers.

DHA Docosahexaenoic acid · Fundamental Omega-3
440mg
Sperm motility and morphology

DHA is a key structural component of the sperm cell membrane and is found in particularly high concentrations in the sperm tail, which drives motility. Adequate DHA status is associated with improved sperm motility and normal morphology. Men with poor sperm parameters consistently show lower omega-3 status compared to men with normal results.

Selenium Sodium Selenate · Fundamental Man
100µg
182% NRV
Healthy tail structure

Selenium is structurally incorporated into the midpiece of the sperm tail, where it supports the mechanical function that drives forward movement. Low selenium is one of the more consistent findings in men with poor sperm motility.

Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin) Active methylated form · Fundamental Man
250µg
10000% NRV
Supports sperm motility

B12 supplementation has been shown in clinical studies to improve sperm motility, including forward progression speed. The effect is thought to relate to its role in energy metabolism and cell membrane function.

Zinc (Zinc Bisglycinate) Chelated form · Fundamental Man
6mg
60% NRV
Supports forward swimming

Zinc is required for normal sperm motility. It helps regulate the biochemical processes that drive the tail movement needed for sperm to swim actively towards the egg.

Vitamin E D-alpha tocopherol · Fundamental Man
5mg
42% NRV
Keeps sperm membranes flexible

Sperm membranes are unusually rich in polyunsaturated fats, making them vulnerable to oxidative damage. Vitamin E protects these membranes from the damage that stiffens them and reduces the sperm’s ability to swim and penetrate the egg.

Niacin (Vitamin B3) NAD+ precursor · Fundamental Man
30mg NE
188% NRV
Energy to power sperm movement

Sperm are among the most metabolically active cells in the body. Niacin is a precursor to NAD+, the coenzyme at the centre of energy production in the sperm midpiece where the fuel for swimming is generated.

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate) Active form · Fundamental Man
10mg
714% NRV
Supports normal metabolism

B6 plays a role in testosterone metabolism and helps regulate the hormonal environment that determines sperm production and function. We use pyridoxal-5-phosphate, the active coenzyme form that requires no conversion.

† No Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) has been established.

Benefits for protecting sperm from damage Oxidative damage is one of the most common causes of poor sperm quality and is associated with DNA fragmentation
Ingredient Dose Key benefit
Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinone) Antioxidant role · CoQ10 200mg
200mg
per capsule
Protects sperm from free radical damage

CoQ10 plays a dual role: it drives energy production and acts as a potent antioxidant. Sperm cell membranes are unusually rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, making them highly vulnerable to oxidative damage. CoQ10 neutralises free radicals directly within the mitochondria and in the cell membrane, protecting the integrity of both the sperm’s structure and its DNA.

EPA Eicosapentaenoic acid · Fundamental Omega-3
660mg
Supports the testicular environment

EPA is the body’s primary anti-inflammatory omega-3, acting as a precursor to the signalling molecules that regulate the body’s inflammatory response. Chronic low-grade inflammation in the reproductive environment is associated with impaired sperm development, reduced motility and increased DNA fragmentation. Adequate EPA status supports the cellular environment in which sperm mature over their 74-day development cycle.

Vitamin C Ascorbic acid · Fundamental Man
50mg
63% NRV
Antioxidant shield for sperm

Vitamin C is the most abundant antioxidant in seminal fluid, present at concentrations far higher than in blood. It protects sperm from the oxidative damage that reduces count, quality, and DNA integrity.

Vitamin E D-alpha tocopherol · Fundamental Man
5mg
42% NRV
Protects sperm cell membranes

Vitamin E sits inside sperm cell membranes where it intercepts free radicals before they can damage the fatty acids that keep membranes healthy. It works in partnership with vitamin C, which recharges it once it has done its job.

Selenium Sodium Selenate · Fundamental Man
100µg
182% NRV
Antioxidant enzyme support

Selenium is a core component of the glutathione peroxidase enzymes that neutralise the reactive molecules most harmful to sperm. Without adequate selenium, these protective enzymes cannot function properly.

Beta Carotene Provitamin A · Fundamental Man
0.8mg
Safe antioxidant vitamin A

Beta carotene is a carotenoid antioxidant that also provides vitamin A activity, contributing to the defences that protect developing sperm. Vitamin A is essential for spermatogenesis, and beta carotene provides it without the toxicity risk of high-dose preformed retinol.

Zinc (Zinc Bisglycinate) Chelated form · Fundamental Man

Belinda and Chris
"I wish I had known what to take earlier in our journey. It might have saved us years, money, and a lot of heartbreak."

My husband and I did 6 rounds of IVF. After three failed cycles, we switched to a US clinic that actively encouraged us to take a specific list of supplements, including high-dose CoQ10, for three months before starting. That round, our embryo attrition rate dropped dramatically. We made five good-quality blastocysts. It was the turning point.

I'm a doctor. I'd read the research. But I still hadn't prioritised supplements the way I should have. After seeing the difference firsthand, I couldn't understand why no one had made this simpler. The evidence was there. It just wasn't being applied.

Finding everything in the right dose, the right form, without fillers and industrial oils, was a full-time job on top of everything else we were already going through. I used to spend Sunday evenings making up pill organisers for us both. That's why I built Fertility Hero. I made the products I spent years looking for.

FAQ

When should we both start?

At least three months before you want to conceive, or before egg collection if you're preparing for IVF. Eggs go through their most critical developmental changes in the 90 days before ovulation, and sperm take approximately the same time to develop from scratch. Starting together means both of you are covered for the full window.

How do we take everything?

For her:
Fundamental Woman two capsules daily with food; CoQ10 400mg one capsule twice daily with a meal containing some fat; Fundamental Omega-3 two capsules daily with food.

For him: `
Fundamental Man one capsule daily with food; CoQ10 200mg one capsule twice daily with a meal containing some fat; Fundamental Omega-3 two capsules daily with food.

All products can be taken together at the same meal if that's easier e.g. everything at breakfast with one additional CoQ10 at dinner.

Why do we need different CoQ10 doses?

The doses reflect the different roles CoQ10 plays in egg and sperm biology. For her, 800mg daily (two 400mg capsules) is within the range studied in research on egg quality and IVF outcomes: the energy demand of egg maturation is exceptionally high. For him, 400mg daily (two 200mg capsules) is the dose most referenced in research on sperm motility and DNA fragmentation.

Can she continue everything once pregnant?

We recommend stopping CoQ10 once pregnant, high doses haven't been studied in pregnancy so we don't have enough evidence to advise it. Fundamental Woman and Fundamental Omega-3 are formulated to support pregnancy and can be continued. His products can be continued for general wellbeing but they can also be stopped once conception is confirmed.

Do we need to take this if his semen analysis was normal?

A standard semen analysis measures count, motility and morphology: it doesn't measure DNA fragmentation, oxidative stress, or the nutritional environment in which sperm developed. Many men with completely normal semen analyses have room to support sperm quality at a level standard testing doesn't capture. The three-month sperm development window is a real opportunity regardless of where baseline results sit.

Is this suitable if we're doing IVF?

Yes! Start at least three months before egg collection if you can. For her, the three months before retrieval is when egg quality is most shaped by nutritional preparation. For him, sperm quality matters at every stage of IVF from fertilisation through to embryo development. Both partners being properly prepared going into a cycle is one of the most straightforward things you can do.

How is this different from buying the women's and men's bundles separately?

The Duo bundle contains exactly the same products as the individual bundles but saves you versus buying both separately, and everything arrives in one delivery. On subscribe and save you get an additional 15% off across all five products: less than £2.20 per person a day each.

Why subscribe?

The 90-day window means consistency matters for both of you. Gaps in the protocol mean gaps in the crucial time period for egg and sperm development. Subscribe and save ensures everything arrives together every month: nothing to remember, nothing to reorder, free delivery and an additional 15% off every order.
