What is it?

A high-strength omega-3 supplement providing 660mg EPA and 440mg DHA per daily dose. Sourced from anchovies and concentrated into ethyl ester form for a high omega-3 dose in just two capsules a day. Take it from the moment you start trying, through pregnancy and breastfeeding.

60 capsules = 30 day supply

Who is it for?

Just starting to try
Omega-3 is one of the most consistently supported nutrients in fertility research. Most people, and most diets, fall well short of the levels associated with healthy reproductive function. This is your daily foundation from day one.

Preparing for IVF
Omega-3 is part of a complete IVF prep protocol alongside Fundamental Woman and CoQ10. In IVF research, omega-3 status has been associated with improved egg quality, embryo development, and endometrial receptivity: the conditions that matter most in the lead-up to egg collection and transfer.

Already pregnant or breastfeeding
DHA is essential for your baby's brain and visual development throughout pregnancy and in the months after birth. Your omega-3 needs increase during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and diet alone rarely covers the gap. No need to switch products.

How should I take it?

Take 2 capsules daily with food. Easy to swallow, no fishy aftertaste.

Can be taken alongside Fundamental Woman, Fundamental Man, CoQ10, myo-inositol and magnesium bisglycinate. Everything fits together with no gaps and no doubling up.

Store in a cool, dry place, no need to refrigerate.

What's inside?

EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) 660mg per daily dose

DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) 440mg per daily dose

Total omega-3: 1,100mg per daily dose

Pure fish oil from anchovy (ethyl ester form)

Coating: gelatin (bovine), glycerol, water.

ALLERGY INFORMATION: CONTAINS FISH

How is it different?

  • 660mg EPA and 440mg DHA: doses that reflect the research, not the minimum needed to put omega-3 on the label
  • Both EPA and DHA are included: some products omit EPA entirely: we don't, because the evidence for pregnancy outcomes and maternal wellbeing supports both
  • Sourced from anchovy: small, short-lived fish with low heavy metal accumulation compared to larger species
  • Concentrated ethyl ester form: delivers a high EPA and DHA dose in just two capsules
  • Ethyl ester is the form used in the major clinical trials on omega-3 in pregnancy and fertility. Some brands charge a premium for triglyceride (TG) form; we use EE because it's the form with the strongest evidence base, and absorption is comparable to TG when taken with food.

  • Just starting to try

The 3 months before you conceive matter more than most people realise. Omega-3 is one of the most consistently supported nutrients in fertility research: for both partners. This is your daily foundation from day one.

  • Preparing for IVF

Omega-3 is part of a complete IVF prep protocol alongside Fundamental Woman and CoQ10. Omega-3 status has been associated with improved egg quality, embryo development and endometrial receptivity: the conditions that matter most in the lead-up to egg collection and transfer.

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding

No need to switch. DHA contributes to the normal brain and visual development of your baby throughout pregnancy and in the months after birth. Your omega-3 needs increase significantly during both stages, and diet alone rarely covers the gap. Continuing through breastfeeding is the most reliable way to ensure your baby receives adequate DHA during a critical window of neurological development.

  • For him too

Omega-3 is as relevant for sperm as it is for eggs. DHA is a key structural component of the sperm cell membrane and is associated with sperm motility and morphology. If you're both trying, you should both be taking it.

"Omega-3 is one of the supplements I wish I had taken more seriously earlier in our journey. The evidence for DHA in pregnancy is among the most robust in nutrition science. But the dose matters, and most products don't come close."
  • 660mg EPA and 440mg DHA per daily dose Levels that reflect the research, not a token inclusion.
  • EPA included at a meaningful dose Supports the anti-inflammatory environment associated with implantation, placental function and maternal mood throughout pregnancy.
  • Anchovy-sourced and highly concentrated Small fish, low on the food chain, refined into ethyl ester form for a high dose in two capsules.
  • A fundamental part of your stack Whatever stage you're at, think omega-3. Trying to conceive, preparing for IVF, pregnant or breastfeeding: this has benefits for every stage.

EPA and DHA: what are the benefits?

Fundamental Omega-3 contains two active omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, each playing a distinct role across conception, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Explore each section below.

Benefits for egg health and conception
Ingredient Dose Key benefit
EPA Eicosapentaenoic acid
660mg
Inflammatory balance and implantation

EPA is the primary anti-inflammatory omega-3. The environment in the uterus and follicle during the lead-up to ovulation and around the time of implantation is influenced by the balance between pro- and anti-inflammatory signals. Adequate EPA status is associated with a hormonal and cellular environment supportive of healthy implantation and early pregnancy. EPA is also the omega-3 most strongly associated with mood support: relevant given the emotional demands of a fertility journey and the well-documented relationship between maternal mental health and pregnancy outcomes.

DHA Docosahexaenoic acid
440mg
Egg cell membrane integrity

Every egg cell is surrounded by a membrane composed largely of fatty acids. DHA is a key structural omega-3 in these membranes, and adequate DHA status is associated with healthier egg cell structure and function. In IVF studies, omega-3 status has been associated with improved fertilisation rates and embryo development. DHA cannot be efficiently synthesised by the body: it must come from the diet or supplementation.

Benefits for sperm health
Ingredient Dose Key benefit
DHA Docosahexaenoic acid
440mg
Sperm motility and morphology

DHA is a key structural component of the sperm cell membrane and is found in particularly high concentrations in the sperm tail, which drives motility. Adequate DHA status is associated with improved sperm motility and normal morphology. Men with poor sperm parameters consistently show lower omega-3 status compared to men with normal results.

EPA Eicosapentaenoic acid
660mg
Supports the testicular environment

EPA is the body's primary anti-inflammatory omega-3, acting as a precursor to the signalling molecules that regulate the body's inflammatory response. Chronic low-grade inflammation in the reproductive environment is associated with impaired sperm development, reduced motility and increased DNA fragmentation. Adequate EPA status supports the cellular environment in which sperm mature over their 74-day development cycle.

Benefits for pregnancy and breastfeeding
Ingredient Dose Key benefit
DHA Docosahexaenoic acid
440mg
Baby’s brain and visual development

DHA contributes to the normal brain development of the foetus and breastfed infant. DHA contributes to the normal visual development of the foetus and breastfed infant. Your baby’s brain and retina accumulate DHA rapidly throughout pregnancy and in the months after birth. Maternal DHA status directly influences how much is available for transfer across the placenta and into breast milk.

EPA Eicosapentaenoic acid
660mg
Placental function and maternal mood

Healthy placental function depends on a well-regulated inflammatory environment, and EPA plays a direct role in that. Omega-3 supplementation during pregnancy has been associated with reduced risk of preterm birth in several large studies, with the strongest evidence coming from combined EPA and DHA formulations. It also plays a significant role in supporting maternal mood throughout pregnancy and the fourth trimester, where perinatal anxiety and depression are common and often underdiagnosed. Continuing EPA through breastfeeding supports your own wellbeing at a time when it tends to come last.

Belinda and Chris
"I wish I had known what to take earlier in our journey. It might have saved us years, money, and a lot of heartbreak."

My husband and I did 6 rounds of IVF. After three failed cycles, we switched to a US clinic that actively encouraged us to take a specific list of supplements, including high-dose CoQ10, for three months before starting. That round, our embryo attrition rate dropped dramatically. We made five good-quality blastocysts. It was the turning point.

I'm a doctor. I'd read the research. But I still hadn't prioritised supplements the way I should have. After seeing the difference firsthand, I couldn't understand why no one had made this simpler. The evidence was there. It just wasn't being applied.

Finding everything in the right dose, the right form, without fillers and industrial oils, was a full-time job on top of everything else we were already going through. I used to spend Sunday evenings making up pill organisers for us both. That's why I built Fertility Hero. I made the products I spent years looking for.

FAQ

Some other omega-3 products only have DHA. Why does yours have EPA as well?

Some brands omit EPA on the basis that DHA is the omega-3 most directly associated with fetal brain development. This is technically true but misses the bigger picture. EPA is the primary anti-inflammatory omega-3, and its role in pregnancy outcomes including implantation, placental function, preterm birth risk, and maternal mood is well established. The research on pregnancy outcomes is mostly based on combined EPA and DHA formulations.

Why anchovies?

Anchovies are small, short-lived fish that feed low on the food chain, which means they accumulate significantly fewer heavy metals and environmental contaminants than larger fish. They are also a more sustainable source than many alternatives.

What does ethyl ester form mean?

Fish oil omega-3 comes in two main forms: ethyl ester (EE) and triglyceride (TG). EE is produced by concentrating the omega-3 fatty acids, which allows a high EPA and DHA dose in a small number of capsules. The major clinical trials on omega-3 in pregnancy and fertility used ethyl ester formulations. Absorption of EE is comparable to TG when taken with food, which is how we recommend taking it.

Can I take it alongside other products?

Yes. There is no overlap with our other products and no issue with combining with any of our other products.

Can I keep taking it once pregnant or when breastfeeding?

Yes! Adequate omega-3 status is associated with benefits in all three stages.
