Who is it for?
"One thing our IVF journey made very clear to me was how much of the preparation seemed to focus on the woman. My husband was taking supplements too, but working out what he should take — and finding the right ingredients, forms and doses — was surprisingly complicated. Fertility Hero is about making that preparation simpler. Male fertility deserves proper attention too, and Fundamental Man was created to give men a straightforward way to take an active role in preparing for conception."
Every ingredient, and why we include it
The Fertility Fundamentals Man bundle brings together 22 active nutrients and compounds across three products. Explore what’s inside, the forms we’ve chosen and what’s worth knowing about each one.
Zinc contributes to normal fertility and reproduction. We use zinc bisglycinate rather than zinc oxide.
Zinc contributes to normal DNA synthesis, normal acid-base metabolism and the maintenance of normal testosterone levels in the blood.
Selenium contributes to normal spermatogenesis and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Spermatogenesis is the biological process through which sperm cells develop. Selenium also contributes to normal thyroid function and the normal function of the immune system.
Provides 10µg vitamin D3 per daily serving, the amount UK government advice recommends adults consider supplementing during autumn and winter.
Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system, the maintenance of normal bones and normal muscle function. We use vitamin D3 as cholecalciferol.
Iodine contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function. Ours is sourced from knotted kelp.
Iodine also contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal cognitive function and the normal functioning of the nervous system.
† No Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) has been established.
Folate contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism and has a role in the process of cell division. We use 5-MTHF rather than folic acid.
5-MTHF is a reduced folate form that can participate directly in folate-dependent metabolic pathways. Fundamental Man provides 100µg per daily serving.
Vitamin B12 has a role in the process of cell division and contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism. We use methylcobalamin rather than cyanocobalamin.
Methylcobalamin is a coenzyme form of vitamin B12. B12 also contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Choline contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism, normal lipid metabolism and the maintenance of normal liver function.
Choline can be converted to betaine, which participates in one-carbon metabolism alongside folate-dependent pathways. We provide 150mg choline per daily serving.
† No Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) has been established.
His routine provides 400mg CoQ10 per day as naturally fermented ubiquinone, taken as two 200mg capsules.
CoQ10 is naturally present in cells and participates in the mitochondrial electron transport chain. We use a dedicated CoQ10 product rather than adding a token amount to the multinutrient.
Fundamental Omega-3 provides 440mg DHA alongside 660mg EPA per daily serving, sourced from anchovies.
DHA is a long-chain omega-3 fatty acid and a structural component of cell membranes. We provide omega-3 as a dedicated product so meaningful amounts of EPA and DHA can be included.
660mg EPA combines with 440mg DHA to provide 1,100mg EPA + DHA in the daily serving.
EPA and DHA are long-chain omega-3 fatty acids. At a combined daily intake of 250mg, EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart.
† No Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) has been established.
Vitamin C contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and to the normal function of the immune system.
Vitamin C also contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
We use D-alpha tocopherol, a naturally occurring form of vitamin E.
Selenium contributes to normal spermatogenesis and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Selenium also contributes to the normal function of the immune system and normal thyroid function.
Manganese contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and to normal energy-yielding metabolism.
We use manganese bisglycinate and provide 1mg per daily serving.
Zinc and copper interact nutritionally, which is why we considered both when formulating Fundamental Man rather than adding zinc in isolation.
Copper contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, normal iron transport and the normal functioning of the nervous system.
† No Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) has been established.
Riboflavin contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Riboflavin also contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to the maintenance of normal red blood cells.
Thiamin contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and the normal functioning of the nervous system.
Thiamin also contributes to normal psychological function and the normal function of the heart.
Pantothenic acid contributes to the normal synthesis and metabolism of steroid hormones, vitamin D and some neurotransmitters.
Pantothenic acid also contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Vitamin K contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and to normal blood clotting. We use vitamin K2 in the MK-7 form.
Fundamental Man provides 100µg vitamin K2 per daily serving as MK-7.
Chromium contributes to the maintenance of normal blood glucose levels and to normal macronutrient metabolism.
We use chromium picolinate and provide 50µg per daily serving.
† No Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) has been established.
His routine provides 400mg CoQ10 per day as naturally fermented ubiquinone, taken as two 200mg capsules.
Fermentation-derived CoQ10 provides ubiquinone in the all-trans configuration found naturally in the body. We chose a naturally fermented source rather than chemically synthesised CoQ10.
